Hello World
The purpose of this post is to:
- Introduce myself
- Explain this website
“My name is Liam Murray.”
I don’t know how to begin my first post other than giving my name upfront. So hello, world; my name is Liam Murray. Welcome to my blog!
Since few of the posts I intend to write in here will be about my personal life, let me introduce myself. I am a 17-year-old student who lives in beautiful Western North Carolina. My family has two cats and a dog; I like to read; I like being outside; I like stargazing. And, more prominently than those—at least on this website—I like math. Most of the posts on here are probably going to be about math.
I doubt I’m the only person who finds math (and other subjects) confusing, so on this website I’ll write explanations of topics I’m itching to discuss. Usually that means I finally understand an idea which had stumped me, but sometimes I may write a post about my ongoing learning—and what I still don’t understand! However, one thing I am *not* is a graduate or academic professional. Please take everything I say with a healthy grain of salt. If you’re confused or have a correction for me, don’t hesitate to leave a kind comment and I’ll do my best to respond.
One more thing. When someone learns a new coding language, their first project is usually called the Hello World program. This small piece of code is literally just meant to run without crashing, but it also demonstrates how coding in that language works; it is a rite of passage for learners, even if it doesn’t do much other than say ‘hello.’ This post is like that. What better way is there to learn how to blog than… blogging?
Since searching “Liam Murray” on Google yields about twenty-three million results, you might want a way to contact me specifically. You can do this by navigating to the about me / contact page.
Thank you all! Happy learning!
